Internship
Cranston, Rhode Island (On-Site)
Hours: 15 hours/week between the hours of 8:30am-4:00pm
Reports To: Program Manager
Works With: Program personnel; Administrative Staff
Brief Description of Duties:
Assists case managers and administration with intaking new clients, file maintenance and service facilitation for clients. Files correspondence and helps track case progress and outcome. Coordinates work with program staff based on the needs of case manager. Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Tasks:
Intake new clients into database.
Assist with filing and sending correspondence to clients/ patients.
Coordinated daily activities with and report problems and case outcomes to the organization’s court designated case manager of record.
Assist with internal reporting.
Work with case management and office staff on program activities such as task forces, planning exercises, etc.
Critical Skills:
Familiarity with the state and federal criminal justice system.
Matriculating student working towards bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, political science, or related field.
Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Detailed oriented, ability to take direction well.
Be computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Some familiarity with legal terminology involving crime victims, restitution, filings, etc.
